  • Classroom Teacher

    Job Summary

    The Classroom Teacher position is a full-time teaching position for kindergarten, first, or second grade. Each teacher is responsible for the executing academic lessons, managing the classroom, and ensure a positive classroom culture each day. Teachers are also responsible for collaborating with their grade level teams, particularly for lesson planning and norming instructional practices.  All Clarksdale Collegiate teachers are accountable for the intellectual preparation for each lesson, building strong and positive relationships with students and families, using data to tailor their instruction, and actively engaging in collaboration with their colleagues.

    Essential Functions

    • Execute daily lesson plans for all assigned blocks.
    • Implement all Clarksdale Collegiate routines and procedures with fidelity.
    • Submit weekly lesson plans and unit plans in a timely manner for feedback.
    • Administer comprehensive unit assessments aligned to standards and pacing plans.
    • Actively participate in all professional development sessions and weekly coaching sessions.
    • Incorporate feedback from coaches in a timely manner.
    • Communicate weekly with families and other key stakeholders.
    • Provide scholars with frequent and accurate behavioral and academic feedback.
    • Identify students who are academically at risk and initiate effective intervention strategies.
    • Consistently analyze scholar data and engage in self-reflection on practices.
    • Complete all duties, posts and tasks as assigned.

    Job Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required.
    • Minimum two years of teaching preferred.
    • Mississippi State teacher license/certification preferred. Passing Praxis I scores for Mississippi required.
    • Successful manager of a classroom who has used structure, incentives, and high expectations to drive student success.
    • Experienced classroom teacher with demonstrated quantifiable and objective student performance gains that surpass state or local averages.
    • Ability to work with a variety of learning abilities, including those with special needs and low skill level in a heterogeneously grouped classroom setting.
    • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team, especially with parents and community members.

  • Bus Driver

    Job Summary

    Under the general supervision of the Director of Operations, the Bus Driver has the primary responsibility for ensuring the health, safety and welfare of the children, staff and volunteers during bus transportation to and from the school and on field trips.

    Essential Functions

    • Ensures the safety/well-being of children and adults being transported to and from designated locations.
    • Completes a comprehensive written inspection of the bus daily, reporting any conditions of concern to the Director, or delegated staff person, before transporting children.
    • Ensures that the bus always has sufficient fuel, clean, and maintain all transportation records.
    • Operates bus in such a way that road and safety regulations are always followed; reports any traffic violations to the Director immediately.
    • Follows procedures to guarantee no child is left alone on bus without adult supervision at any time, including insuring all children have departed bus at the end of all bus routes (morning, evening and during field trips or other special trips).
    • Keeps the bus clean and free of debris; follows other bus cleaning procedures.
    • Routinely inventories bus emergency, first-aid supplies, equipment, and report needs to the Director, or delegated staff person.
    • Attend paid transportation in-service training of bus drivers and other continuing education/professional development opportunities.
    • In case of accidents/emergencies, evacuates children according to written and practiced procedures.
    • In the event of an accident, assures that medical emergency procedures are followed; completes a written accident report as required by delegate’s procedure and other authorities.
    •  Support student recruitment, enrollment, and retention activities as needed.

    Job Qualifications


    • Possess a current Commercial Driver’s License class B with school bus endorsement
    • Successful experience as a School Bus Driver preferred. Effective oral and written communication skills commensurate with the responsibilities of the position are required.

    Additional Requirements

    • Ability to comprehend and follow traffic signs required.
    • Ability to learn and comprehend information from Procedures Manuals and other materials.
    • Ability to pass a School Bus Driver’s physical which includes a drug test
    • Ability to perform responsibilities under pressure: in cases of accidents or other emergencies.
    • Ability to present a positive image of the organization to members of the community.
    • Able to work a flexible schedule.
    • Adherence to an unwavering trust in Clarksdale Collegiate’s Core Beliefs
    • Have a valid Mississippi driver’s license.
    • Job involves sitting for long periods as well as stooping, squatting, lifting, carrying, pushing and climbing.
    • Must be able to comply with background check, including fingerprints, as required by the State of Mississippi. Random drug tests may be performed.
    • Must be able to travel, enter, and exit a vehicle without assistance and withstand exposure to adverse weather conditions.
    • Must have effective organizational, problem solving, and time management skills.
    • Respect for children and adults from various cultures and backgrounds, flexibility, patience, good personal hygiene, and physical and mental health that do not interfere with responsibilities.
    • Successful experience working as an effective member of a team desirable.
    • Sufficient knowledge to operate the bus, conducts pre-trip inspections, and cleans vehicle.

    The qualifications listed above are guidelines for selection purposes; alternative qualifications may be substituted if sufficient to perform the duties.


    Salary will be commensurate with experience. Position is benefits eligible. Options towards full-time status are available.
